Wrexham AFC ground investigation by Geotechnics

Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 is finally here and we can’t wait to deep dive into the previous year of Wrexham AFC with Ryan & Rob!

Inspired by the new Season, we cast our minds back to early 2023, where we were delighted to support Wrexham AFC in their ambitious redevelopment project. The club, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, plan to build a new stand and improve the external areas of the stadium.

The Wrexham AFC ground investigation was devised to test the ground conditions at the site earlier this year, providing reliable data and recommendations for the construction design.

The investigation aimed to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality for the project, which would transform the Kop Stand into a modern and attractive facility.

When completed the new stand will accommodate 5500 spectators, with 5000 seats for general admission and 500 seats for corporate guests, accessible via a new hospitality lounge. The design of the stand pays tribute to Wrexham's coal mining heritage, a theme that will be echoed in the surrounding public spaces.

The concourse area of the stand will also function as a versatile venue for events on non-matchdays, such as concerts, exhibitions, and conferences. This redevelopment will help to fill a gap in the local market and create more economic opportunities and visibility for the city.
